The little escape

One Monday morning, Pahi’s papa saw this little girl sneak out of her classroom and dash for the school gate, to reach freedom. All the mothers, who were standing outside to take their kids home, saw her and told Pahi’s papa, “Hey, that’s your kid.” Needless to say, Pahi’s papa was surprised, embarassed and proud. All at once.

But Pahi was unlucky -- the gate was locked. So she stood, trying hard to slip in through the bars.

All around the school, the teachers started getting worried: where was Turya? Where?

Turya was crying “papa, mama, ladoo” etc etc by then. It sounded a bit fake but desperate enough.

Actually, she was just happy to have run. Since she was crying and papa could not open the gate, he gave her his phone through the bars and said: “Here, take some photos. Don’t cry.”
Pahi slowly quietened down and started trying to figure out what to do with the phone. By then one teacher found her, raced to the gate, picked the escapee up and then opened the gate. Immediately, Pahi lunged forward and found herself safely lodged in her papa’s arms. She was free.... yet again.

After a full five minutes, the rest of the class started traipsing out. Pahi then gave Upamanyu high fives and drove back home with papa.

When she reached home, she would not do susu... as always. And she wanted yet another chocolate.

Moral: Sometimes you have to run
